Where is the best place in St. Thomas USVI and/or St. Martin USVI to buy sandals and dress shoes?

Not many shoe stores in St. Thomas. Lots of sneaker stores (Foot Locker ect) and Payless. St. Thomas isn't the place for dress shoes shopping.

An interesting shop for sandals is Zora's of St Thomas. I've been in their shop a a few times. They can make custom sandals for you and they also have a full line in stock. They also make custom carry all bags. They were featured on one of the travel shows a few years back as one of those little known finds in the islands.

Is ZOra's still there? yippee! Mom and I got custom Zora's in 1972, i was 12 so mine are long gone but she STILL has hers and wears them too!

I found another nice place to buy shoes. I walked by there and the place was packed. I went inside and women were buying shoes and purses like one of those whacky sales you see in the movies. Its called "Essentric Shoe Boutique". Its located on Store Gade real near the Green House, just down the way from Gemstone House. They had a nice variety of what looked like designer shoes but the prices were too low.

Yes, Zora's is still there. I got a pair of custom sandals in October of 2003 that I just love so much I never take them off in summer.

 

I am going back to St Thomas next week and another pair is at the top of my shopping list! :)

Zora's is one of those little known travel secrets. A short walk from the downtown shopping area but well worth it! Nice folks.
