QueensChick Posted April 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Hello to all of you experienced Royal Caribbean cruisers... I'll be on AOS Sept. 5-12, 2004. We'll be visiting Aruba, Curacao, St. Thomas & St. Maarten. I am soooo looking forward to this cruise. (As if anyone booked on a cruise could do anything but look forward to it. ) I know it'll be a GREAT experience. What can you tell me about this cruise line & ship. Any info will be welcome. caviargal Posted April 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2004 I sailed on the AOS last March. She is very pretty ship and the staff was terrific! I enjoyed Portofino's and felt it was worth the price. I am not a big fan of Voyager class ships but had a much better experience on AOS than VOS. The Southern Caribbean itinerary is my favorite overall. The crowd was very mixed, lots of folks from PR which made the latin dance the place to be! You will have a super time! FinelyCruising Posted April 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2004 The ship is wonderful. As another poster indicted already Portofino's is wonderful. Of all the cruises we have taken the service on this ship was the best by far. The ports are very nice, Aruba we have done before and enjoy, St Maarten this was our first time and can't wait to do again, Curacao, well too bad there has to be a dud. The ship is in great shape, superbly maintained, you will enjoy the dining room and the cabins, the layout, and the fact that it never seems to be as big as it is...and when in port you will see how big it is, it dwarfs so many other's! For the afternoon snacks/tea...go all the way back to the Oasis Grill, there is fantastic Guacamole at the back of the ship. In the early morning you can also get your eggs any way you like them prepared freshly for you right there too. The Itinerary for what you have chosen is sure to please. If you use the Spa, it waa a pleasure on this ship. Have a Great Time! P.S. If you have been to St Thomas before and not done St John...go this time. You won't be disappointed. Adventure Girl Posted April 30, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2004 As you can see from my screen name, (Adventure Girl), The Adventure of the Seas is my ship!!!! I absolutely LOVE the AOS....it is beautiful, elegant, crew is fantastic, entertainment is great, dining is great, I can't say enough about this ship. I loved the ship and the cruise so much that I sailed on AOS twice in 6 months. I did both the Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia itinerary and the Aruba, Curacao, St. Marten itinerary. Loved both. Can't decide which I liked better. I'm trying the Mariner of the Seas next...in November....but I am so afraid that I will not be as happy as I was with the AOS.... I'm jealous....I wish I was joining you on the Adventure of the Seas...you are going to have a FANTASTIC voyage! Cruise Miriam Posted April 30, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2004 I've sailed the Adventure (in Nov.), Mariner (in Jan.) and Explorer (three years ago), just to name a few RCI cruises I've done. I thought the Adventure was one of my best cruises, until I went on the Mariner. I did the Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten itinerary. The southern is my favorite. The service on the Adventure is great and the entertainment was much better than on my previous RCI cruises (I've been on many). I'd sail the Adventure again, if I had the opportunity. I'm sure you have a fantastic time. I wish I was going again. NAHA Posted April 30, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 30, 2004 We've sailed Voyager, Adventure, Grandeur, Radiance and Majesty. Adventure remains our favorite. It is the most elegant ship we have sailed on! Combine that with the excellent Southern itinerary - it is a dream cruise!
tlsearay Posted May 1, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 1, 2004 We are planning a AOS voyage for 6/05. My kids 13 and 16 want to scuba. Has anyone done the beginning scuba through RCL?
