Airfare Averages

I stumbled upon this website by accident and thought it could prove to be helpful when researching airfares. Apologies if it's been posted before.

Although this is a handy, user-friendly site, they don't really explain much about the data they are reporting. The source data, as they acknowledge, is really from the quarterly FAA fare reports, in particular, I believe, Table 1. Although the original data are not as user-friendly, one could get fare information as far back as 1997 if one had an interest in conducting a longer time-series analysis.
