cruiseapril Posted April 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Does anyone have an update on the day passes at these hotels? Can you rent chairs and towels and use the pools? Thanks for any updates.
lisamac1 Posted April 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2009 I too would be interested in information about the day rooms at the Sheraton.
bobsfamily Posted April 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2009 What time of the year are we talking about? If in the very near future it may not be available as they are full (or fuller than normal) with spring breakers... Past May you should be able to get a day pass... unless they stop doing it. That is about as good as it gets... you could go tomorrow and passes are there then the next day "no passes"... Welcome to the Bahamas.
cruiseapril Posted April 7, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Bob- We'll be there in 2 weeks and are hoping for a day pass- what do people do otherwise to use Our Lucaya Beach?
bobsfamily Posted April 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Bob- We'll be there in 2 weeks and are hoping for a day pass- what do people do otherwise to use Our Lucaya Beach? Once at Our Lucaya you can go between the Sheraton and Westin (pass the casino - Isle of Capri) and there is a walkway to the beach... If they are offering day passes there will be someone to show you where to buy them or just head to the beach. If there is security and you are not allowed thru... one, just tell them you are just going to the beach, or 2 ask them where the public walkway is and they will most likely let you walk thru to the beach, or 3 walk back the way you came, go thru the casino (or around if you have children) and walk past the entrance of the Sheraton (in the parking lot) to a road that goes down the side... this is a PUBLIC road and you can walk down to the beach... Once on the beach you can rent jet skis, banana boat rides, trampoline, etc. There are clamshells that are sometimes for rent if not all have been rented by resort guests... There is a swim-up bar that as long as you are drinking you can usually get into and but that drink... be aware that drinks are not cheap! Over at the shopping area are much cheaper drinks/food/etc. Have a great time...
