Anyone been to both Altun Ha & Chacchoben?

Do you recommend one over the other?

If we do Altun Ha in Belize then we could explore Majahual while in Costa Maya. But if we do Chacchoben, that leaves us free to do either cave tubing or Shark Ray Alley in Belize.

If you've been to both ruins, would love to hear your opinion.

Thanks in advance!

Mid-October we went to Costa Maya and visited Chacchoben ruins. They were very nice. They are mostly un-discovered and only some parts have been excavated. It was nice to see the early stages of the excavation process. We also had plenty of time to go back to the ship in Costa Maya, eat lunch on the ship and then still explore the cruise village they have created for the tourists on the ships. I have not been to the other ruins in Belize, but I have heard they are much more excavated and developed. We did the snorkling in Shark Ray Alley in Belize....it was very nice also, saw more rays than sharks though.
