NYcruizer Posted December 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2004 I was just wondering if anyone has stayed at the hyatt in miami. I'll be staying there December 22nd and 23rd before leaving on the navigator on the 24th. Any comments would be great, thanks. -Jordan
hdawson Posted December 2, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Excellent upscale property. Had a room on the 19th floor with a fantastic view from the balcony. Overlooking the city and Biscayne Bay. The people mover is close by with access to the Bayside Market area. On priceline it has been available from $27 to $60. We stayed at a Hyatt Regency in Miami November 14th that was paid for by RCCL. Talked with a travel agent about the pricing of a room and when she looked at prices, they are a couple of hundred $$$ a night... Hmmmmm..... NorEaster Posted December 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2004 I stayed at this Hyatt last year for $45.00 with priceline. Great deal on a very nice place.

Highlander Posted December 2, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2004 We stayed at the Hyatt a year & a half ago and paid $27 through Priceline. It was a great location. Within 5 minutes walk were stores, including a pharmacy,Subway, pizza places etc. We even went on the people mover. Bayside Market area is close by (walking distance) where there are great restaurants and shops. In the morning it was a $6 +tip cab to the pier. We had a room on the 16th floor overlooking part of the pier and water.
lanabanana Posted December 2, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Ditto for us. We stayed there in Sept. Got the room on Priceline for $37 and had to stay a second night due to Hurricane Jeanne. That night cost $120 and that was cheaper than their internet rate. It's a great hotel. Good restaurant. You'll love it. We did pay $11 for our cab to the pier. There was lots of traffic and that meter continues running whether the cab is moving or not!
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted December 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Ditto on Hyatt....very nice, upscale and clean. Its a good choice. RCI uses it when we book air with them and fly day prior. ***
Luna Posted December 2, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2004 We've stayed 3 times at the Hyatt, the most recent being this past May. Lovely balcony views and walking distance to Bayside. The service at this hotel is, in our experience, excellent.
over the edge Posted December 3, 2004 #10 Share Posted December 3, 2004 We won't be arriving at the Hyatt until about 10:30 pm. Does check in take long? Would you say it would be worth our while to take a walk down to the marketplace at that hour of the night. I know I'll be too excited about our upcoming cruise the next day to just sit in the hotel room. The stores close at 11:00, but is it a place where there is always something exciting to see?? Arizona Cruz Chic Posted December 3, 2004 #11 Share Posted December 3, 2004 over the edge.....do not walk to Bayside at night! ***
over the edge Posted December 3, 2004 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2004 OK, what about that trolley or shuttle people talk about, would that be safe? I'm not alone, there are 4 of us????
Aliann Posted December 3, 2004 #13 Share Posted December 3, 2004 We've taken the people mover that late at night, but there were about 8 of us. I wouldn't walk, maybe ask the hotel. Seems to short a distance to take a cab. The hotel itself was great. Yes, it normally does cost a great deal, but like the others, I got a priceline deal for about 45. a night for 2 nights pre-cruise and 2 nights post. Bayside Marketplace is great. We just got back from Enchantment cruise this past Sat. and stayed in Fort Lauderdale till Tuesday. Rented a car and drove down to Miami and Bayside on Monday night. Odd to see the Christmas decorations and hear the carols playing when the weather is gorgeous. I'm from cold weather country, and it didn't feel like Christmas. You'll love the hyatt. Safe travels! VABeach Posted December 3, 2004 #15 Share Posted December 3, 2004 We stayed next door in the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. You can look out of your window and see your ship.:) The Bayside Market Place is worth the walk accross the street. We went there for breakfast in the morning before going over to our ship and then came back after the cruise to see all the stuff we had missed. You can practically walk to the pier from there, but you should probably take a cab if you have luggage.:p It's a perfect spot to stay!! We would definately do it again that way.
