Going to Nassau in June....

What is this Junkanoo Parades ??

The claim is that the parade is from 1:00AM to 11:00AM ... an all night carnival ???

The Junkanoo Parade is during the Xmas holiday season.

That's the one that goes from early morning to mid morning.. and takes place downtown thru the streets to Rawson Square.

 

You may be thinking of Junkanoo in June..which is a cultural festival that takes place on weekends at Arawak Cay and downtown during the summer months. Although it's called Junkanoo in June... last year it didn't start until mid July..and into early August.

 

No dates or schedules per performances have been posted as yet.

 

Keep an eye out for "junkanoo in june".

You always have the correct info....It does sound like a good time for all

We were hopeful for some night activity while we were there.

The data did say that the activity was during June ... If nothing is being prepared yet I suppose that it will not be happening while we are in town.

Can you suggest other options ? We are not overly interested in Atlantis except for the aquarium.

If you are coming in June.. clubs should be in full swing most nites. Bambu, Fluids, Senor Frogs..

On weekend nites.. arawak cay will have local "flavor" and music.

We will Junkanoo with you ... :) and IcedTea. Bought new clothes for you know who and luggage also - guess I better start packing. If there is no Junkanoo, we will create our own!!!!!

During the summer months.. there are smaller "junkanoo rush" celebrations around the islands. Some take place downtown, other's at Arawak Cay on the weekend.

I don't have a schedule of events.. but if you are in port during a Rush.. you will certainly see.. or at least hear it.

booked,,the Ship will be in Nassau New Year's Day.

I am guessing the Parade will be over.

By the time the Ship pulls in to Nassau..

I was on a Cruise one year NY's Day

I got to see alittle bit of the

Junkanoo Parade....

It was neat.......
