alixma Posted April 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2009 Hi folks. We are going on the Oceana on May 16th around W. Med. Has anyone visited Cartagena or La Spezia and what is there to see there? We dont want to book any excursions from these ports and want to do our own thing. Anyone out there with any advice please? Thanks.
Morgans Posted April 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2009 Both ports are standard ports of call with not a great deal to see or do, although fairly pleasant to have a mooch around. Cartegena is easily walkable - not far from the ship. There are some pleasant shops & cafes and some Roman remains to see. La Spezia needs a short shuttle bus ride and again has some pleasant shops, cafes etc and also a big market. Not a great else to report. These two ports may merit excursions unless you just want a general stroll to do a little shopping.

alixma Posted April 25, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks Cymro We think we might go to Pisa from there but that thread was great for info about Rome from Civitavecchia by train which we are going to do.
