Our current GTY experience...

I know there are always lot of questions about guarantee cabins/what happens/when do you get an assignment/can you get an upgrade, etc.

 

Here is my most recent experience.

 

We decided to do an AK cruise RT out of Seattle (Star~Sept.), cabin selection was not a high priority. (Though with some cruises, it definately is).This was an "off the radar" trip, and happy as a clam just to be sailing....and of course...the price was right!

 

We booked a GG gty cabin yesterday.....and I was shocked when I checked our booking today, we had already been assigned a category D cabin (Plaza).

 

We have had lots of previous experiences with GTY cabins, when on a tight budget. Our personal experience has usually been, while waiting hopefully for an upgrade, at the last minute our cabin is assigned in the category we booked or a meaningless category upgrade (just a different deck).

 

Have never been on Plaza Deck, but it looks quite convenient!!!! I am quite content!!
