Any Empress updates???

She's about to come out of drydock. Anyone have any updates on how the refurbishment is progressing?

Haven't seen anything noteworthy. We'll be sailing on her on June 26th. RCI hasn't even posted the "new pictures" yet. We've sailed on Nordic Empress 3 times in the past 5 years so it will be a shock not having things the way we are used to seeing them. We have a friend that is going out on the "Empress of the Seas" at the end of the week so if I get email from her I will surely pass it on.

Does anyone know will there be a renaming ceremony? Where was she drydocked?

The Empress is still in drydock in Freeport, Bahamas. I received a few emails from crew friends onboard, and they're all about to quit-- they say it's the worst job they've ever had-- I'll have some pics soon.. but from the sound of it, there's still a TON of work to be done... It'll be amazing to see if it all gets completed prior to the first Bermuda cruise-- I would hope RCI learned a lesson from when the Monarch went through her major refurb. I guess only time will tell...

I'll post pics as soon as I have them.
