Barbados embarkation

My wife and I are contemplating taking the Southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Victory next March. We would be embarking at Barbados. I am concerned about what happens when the ship gets to San Juan. I understand that there is some U.S. immigration procedure, but I couldn't determine just what, or how long it might take. We are travelling on Canadian passports. Thanks.

Because 'most' of the cruise starts and ends in San Juan, I think the procedure for you would be what we go through doing a back to back. When all debarking passengers are off the ship, they escort those staying on off to go through immigration and back onto the ship. It might take a few minutes, or a couple of hours. Not sure if carnival gives out passes for 'transit' passengers. There have been other threads about this. EM

Go to the members reviews and select the Victory and read most recent review. That person didn't make a lot of sense. They were mad about everything but really mad about paying a 15 percent gratuity on alcahol, and how you are not told about it. Then they go on to say they have been on carnival a few times before, don't you think you would know that if you sailed before. anyway in the review this person talks about what happens when you get to San Juan.
