Victoria Day - Is everything closed?

We will be arriving in Vancouver on May 18 and have a few hours to look around before going to the airport. Is everything generally closed for this holiday? We don't have much time, but were hoping to walk around, maybe find a nice place for lunch. Are there special events - parades, fireworks - that might be happening?

The financial district and perhaps a few of the restaurants located there might be closed but the retail outlets will be open from approx. 11AM to 6PM so you shouldn't have much of a problem doing your thing - as for parades and fireworks - no not usually associated with this holiday.
