With the recent news on the Splendor...what happen when ship cancel all ports? 1/ Do they give you OBC? 2/ They are heading back to SFO and down to Long Beach again...can they just drop off passengers that wants to get off at Long Beach, since going up North the sea could be rough and you don't want to go?

I know my questions sounds like a cry baby and silly...but if you can advices or have any information...I would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tibbie

If you are asking if people on the current cruise will be allowed to end their cruise in San Francisco, then no, because that would be a violation of the PVSA.

If you are asking about future cruises, I believe Carnival has an option to cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of the announcement of the itinerary change, so if you do not want to do this call and cancel.

If ports are cancelled, the cruise line will give you a credit for the port charges that are not incurred. Sometimes, they may give you additinal compenation, but they are not obligated to. In the case of swine flu, they are avoiding ports where YOU may become sick. I would not expect much extra.

Disembarking at a different port can be a problem. It would likely violate the Passenger Vessel Service Act and subject you to a fine. Talk to the cruise line to see if it is possible.
