dleonard0624 Posted May 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2009 We are cruising on the Mariner of the Seas on June 7. We have been rerouted from Mexican Riviera to Pacific Coastal. We leave from Los Angelos and stop in San Francisco, Seattle Washington, and Victoria British Columbia. We need shore excursion ideas for these ports of call. Our party will have 10 adults and 5 kids ages 10 to 16. How much cooler will the weather be?
bubbadog Posted May 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2009 For Seatle,i would go to (Pikes place market),and then to seattle center, where there is a multitude of things to do, plus it will be close to the ship, San Francisco should have lots to do too, that would be close to ship and area, check ports of call board for more recent things to do;)
Sandy Sails Posted May 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2009 I hear alot of people are planning to visit the wine country or go on a wine tour in San Francisco. In Victoria, you can always go to Buchart (sp) Gardens; or right downtown there are tons of museums. In Seattle, the Pike Place Market is on 1st & Pike, near the cruise terminal. You can spend hours there looking through the shops and the booths, eating at the restaurants; and then walk south down the waterfront and visit other stores and/or the aquarium, eating at Ivars (salmon!). If you have time, you can walk east up to 5th & Pike to the Westlake Center and catch the Monorail to the Seattle Center and visit the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Center, go on rides. Of course nothing there is free. Then you'll have to take the Monorail back so make sure you have plenty of time (it's about a 15 minute ride). The weather in June can be anywhere between 60-75 degrees, sunny or rainy. Just be prepared for rain - bring a light-weight jacket with a hood. If it's sunny, Seattle will be the most beautiful city you'll ever see, surrounded by water and mountains. If it's rainy, it's pretty gloomy. Enjoy! HorrorFan Posted May 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2009 How much cooler will the weather be? Considering you are in New Mexico, its pretty safe to say you won't need many shorts.;)

tk0016 Posted May 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I am on the 5/24 sailing with this itinerary. I posted on the ports of call boards, but no replies! Any other suggestions for Victoria?
crzgrl66 Posted May 7, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2009 With kids and teens in your group, I would recommend Pier 39 for San Francisco. There is an aquarium tour, boat tours, arcade, lots of shops, great people watching and pretty much something for everyone. Be sure to bring a jacket. Have fun!
