Island escape "VENETIAN DISASTER"

Absolutely furious. I have been to Venice many times but we were with friends who had never been before. Our idea was to have a leisurely look around over two days going on the vaporetto over to the Lido etc. As it was we rushed round to show them all the famous sites and of course got caught in that horrendous deluge and ended up completely soaked. Wish there was something we could do about it but think they are covered as it says on the tickets that they can change the itinerary. Don't mind odd changes like the Nice/Villefranche one which we were never even told about but when they change the main highlight of the cruise there should be some sort of comeback.

Hi to you both.

I don't think you'll get much joy in getting anything, unless it's a refund for any cancelled excursions.

All cruise lines seem to have a "we can change itinerary" thing written into the contract.

You should see the American cruise lines boards with them cancelling Mexico recently. People off to Alaska instead and not happy.

Hope you had a good trip otherwise

Agree with you there but think they will try everyway to get out of it. We had dispute with Thomsons last year over a holiday to Egypt and we couldn't even get them to understand what we were complaining about!!

Went to a hotel but were not informed that it was not finished. There was one room not ready, the entertainment room. Meant that entertainment was done in main reception/bar area. Entertainment poor to say the least and very loud but nowhere to get out of it. Hotel in middle of desert. When we asked at reception we were told to go back to our rooms!!

Complained to Thomson mainly that we had not been told about this before we left, and asking for reassurance that it would not happen again. First letter that came back said were sorry entertainment not to our liking etc. Wrote again explaining this was not what we were complaining about and got second letter back saying noise from other bars in area not their fault! There were no other bars in the area we were in the middle of the desert!! Wrote back again can't remember exactly what last letter said but basically they had answered our complaint considered matter closed!!

At that point gave up in total frustration.
