sbfanatic Posted May 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Can anyone tell me how the Lido deck cabins are on Splendor. This is the first time we've ventured that far forward and that high up. Any info would be appreciated.
ERICnLISA Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 We were on the Splendor back at Thanksgiving and stayed on the Lido in a Balcony Cabin (9237). We didn't notice any more movement in the cabin than in the rest of the Ship. It was pretty windy the entire cruise, Eastern Caribbean Itinerary, and they never opened the retractable roof. Really loved staying on the Lido.
SoCalCruiserGal Posted May 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Hi, I haven't been on Splendor yet, but I have a Lido cabin booked on this ship for October. I've been on Lido on the Triumph and absolutely loved it!!! Stacey
TakeMeAway1001 Posted May 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I haven't been on the Splendor but had a lido balcony on the Glory/9265 and it was my favorite cabin location so far :)
divinmule Posted May 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2009 We are on Lido for our cruise in Nov and my husband is ecstatic. He just envisions being right there by the food and fun 24/7. And getting to use our room instead of "public facilities". :) I guess its the little things in life that make us happiest.

cccer Posted May 9, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2009 We have had a balcony on the lido three times and are going back in July on the lido. It is close to everything and the noise is really not bad at all.
blingbling Posted May 9, 2009 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2009 We were on the Upper Deck (6th...and we loved it for being 2 floors above the casino and dining rooms + 3 floors below the Lido deck and we walked rather than rode elevators) for the Dover to Rome sailing on Splendor Sept 2008 and of course visited the buffet, the outdoor movie, and the pool many times. If you get one of the cabins in the traffic area between the elevator and the doors to the Lido Deck public area, I would expect to have lots of noise from shuffling people, talking, laughing etc. as they pass thru. But if your cabin is behind the elevators, and yes I just booked one of these Lido balcony cabins for 24 May Canada cruise, you will be fine as all the traffic goes the opposite direction. I never noticed motion except on the 10 and 11 decks. I was going to purchase a spa package for length of cruise...did the tour before sailing and loved the facilities. Went back after dinner to buy it....we were sailing out of the English channel and I thought I would be motion sick. I had to quickly leave. Being on the Lido 9th deck I never had that sensation. Hope this helps. PS> I did use the spa for a mini-facial once while seas were calm. Ciao!
Cruise Cat Posted May 9, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2009 We are on Lido for our cruise in Nov and my husband is ecstatic. He just envisions being right there by the food and fun 24/7. And getting to use our room instead of "public facilities". :) I guess its the little things in life that make us happiest. That is our plan for our upcoming Conquest cruise. We can go right from our room to the deck party and don't have to stand in line for the public restroom!
murphy4 Posted May 9, 2009 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2009 LOVED being on the Lido deck. we were on the Glory balcony cabin 9270, it was directly behind the main elevators and right across from the laundry room. We never even realized how huge the ship was until one day when we went down to the 8th deck to go to breakfast. (it was raining and we didn't want to go out on deck!). If and when I cruise again I would pick that deck over all others for its convenience to everything. like the OP said, including your own bathroom! And it's such a short walk to get to your "smuggled booze"!:) I have a Lido cabin on the Glory starting today. Leaving the house in about 1.5 hours, sailing at 1600!:D:D
