Alaska summer weather question

I am considering a cruise to Alaska in either the late part of June or early July. What is the weather like typically at that time of year? I have heard it is cool and very rainy. Is that correct for the most part? Thanks for your help!

Be prepared for overcast and rain, but when we went last year in early July we did not get a single day of rain all week. Our friends went the following week and had great weather as well. I wore short sleeves the whole time (except on our excursions that went near the glaciers).

Weather in Alaska is extremely variable from week to week and from year to year...I would pack for the cool damp weather, throw in a pair of shorts and a few t-shirts and if the weather is warm, well good for you.:)
