Mr. Baloo Posted May 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2009 After 3 long days of touring Italy, we will be ready for some down time... What do these ports offer in the way of beaches or places to just chill out and enjoy the coast? I am thinking I would like to visit Monte Carlo, but other than that, I have no idea what to do in these ports. Thanks!

Nice - The most famous market of Nice is the flower market and main market on the Cours Saleya in the old town. dlhoward Posted June 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2009 We will be docking in Villefranche at the end of August. I have 2 daughters (ages 26 & 17) going with me. At first I wanted to go to Monaco but was told the castle doesn't look like a castle, the food isn't as good and it is expensive. Many told me to go to Eze and Nice. Sounds like you have been to all. Is this what you would recommend? After Pompeii and Rome I'm not looking for an 8 hour private tour. What would you suggest? A bus or scooters, or something else? I didn't see Villefranche to Eze on that bus page. Does the bus go from Villefranche to Eze?

joiedevivre Posted July 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2009 Take the train to Cannes. Walk the Croisette. I have two girls. They like to shop. Nice is okay. Cannes is more glamorous. Train stops right in the middle of town. Shop up amd down rue d'antibes or Rue meynadier(ask). Stop for pizza at Creci on port. Mario Butali did a show from here. It is famous. If time pay to go to beach or just walk the shore(they is no charge) avoid Nice.
