cavfam Posted May 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2009 Hi all. I am brandy new to these boards and I have some questions regarding reservations at Palo. This is my first Disney cruise and I hear that Palo is a must. My window to start making reservations is in 2 more weeks. So excited!!! Should I make my reservation for Palo before we go or wait until we get our dining rotation and quickly make them as soon as we get on board? I don't want to miss our first night at Animator's Palate, formal night or Pirate night. Any suggestions? Thanks bunches from a newbie!!
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted May 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2009 Palos fills up quickly so if theres a specific night you want I would try to book on line in 2 weeks. Although they always have some openings when you board, even if the online says its full. So to not miss those special nights you may want to wait and book on board where they can work with you. Or many people love the brunch more than the dinner. I think it is much better and less formal. The food is great for both but brunch is awesome. Plus you wont have to worry about missing an evening event.
kcwiles67 Posted May 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2009 If I were you I would make it when you can....thye also hold space to book when you board in Wavebands. Great place for an awesome dinner! Have fun!
cavfam Posted May 22, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted May 22, 2009 Thank so much. I'll book as soon as I can and hope for the best :)
pixiedustdawn Posted May 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2009 I am now able to book Palo's, but when I go on to book, the only thing for Palo's highlighted is dinner. The brunch and high tea are still shaded. Is this strange?
gatour Posted May 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2009 Cavfam, how long is your cruise? If it is the 4 day or 7 day cruise then book it for the last night. For the seven night you actually have a few more options. No matter your rotation they don't repeat the Animator's Palate the second time you go through. grgiagirl77 Posted May 24, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2009 Hi there. I ate at palo's LASTNIGHT!!! lol It was AMAZING! Get the Lobster Ravioli and the Chocolate Souffle! TO DIE FOR! We ended up tipping but I just read on Disney's tipping guidline's that Palo's tip is included. Even with the tip it was an amazing meal...probably the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. We were on a 7 night cruise and decided to eat on the last night. We booked prior to the cruise. Our dining was earling seating at 5:45, shows began at 8:30. If you had late seating the shows were at 6:15 with dinner following. We actually repeated Animator's palate on our cruise. Infact, our 2nd night was the show night. The best shows, IMO, Dreams and twice Charmed were on our 5th and 6th night or 4th and 6th night. We ALMOST canceled our dinner at Palo's because it was our last night and we wanted to say farewell to our regular dining staff...but decided to go anyway. I"M SO GLAD WE DID! It was soo amazing and fantastic! Definitely go! When I booked online I searched for the itineraries and followed that for a rough guide as to when I should book. Also think about what nights are formal night, semi-formal, casual and decide if you want to dress up more than once or what have you. We participated in all the dress fun....ball gowns, tuxes, pirate costumes, oh my..lol Anyway, hope this helps and have a great time you will enjoy it! cavfam Posted May 24, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted May 24, 2009 We are doing the 7 night. The last night seems like a great idea. Can't wait to start booking everything!! Thanks so much everyone for your help :)
suezyq50 Posted May 24, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2009 We also booked the last night. I am glad we did, due to change in itinerary. Our first night in Animator's was formal night and they did not do the changing of colors. Pirate night was also changed. If I tried to figure it all out, I would have missed out. We really thought brunch was so much better.

Online prior to the cruise, or while on the cruise. For some reason I can't book High tea or brunch online. I am sailing in August.
