Anyone heard of a 2-for-1 coupon before?

Came across this item in an E-Bay sale. I thought of bidding on it (it started at $15):

You are bidding on a Royal Caribbean 2 for 1 Cruise Certificate / Voucher

The two of you can cruise at the price of one. Purchase one cruise fare at published brochure rate and receive a complimentary cruise fare for a companion FREE. You choose the cruise that you want to go on.

Anyone heard of these before? The seller didn't mention where or how he would get the coupon. It sold for $102.50. For $15 I might have taken a chance, but for $100 it seemed iffy. Anyone ever try one of these?

Never seen one, but also don't know of anyone who has ever paid published brochure rate, sounds like a TA gimmick to me
