Anyone been to both Spanish Bay and Bannister Island?

We were at Bannister Island last week and really didn't care for it. We took the tender to shore and booked an excursion there...saved $20 pp over the ship excursion price and had a nice day but it's not really that great in the water.

The sand is all stirred up due to all the people there and it was not a pretty place to swim. The bottom was pretty sharp with stones or shells so walking was not so hot either. Someone jumped in off the pier and since it was so shallow and hard he broke his ankle. Glad he didn't dive! It was so cloudy you could not see that it was shallow.

We could have gone to Spanish Bay but didn't know anything about it. Is it better there?? We're stopping there again in the fall.

Thanks.
