Lesbian Cruisers - What's your best cruise idea?

My wife and I are thinking ahead to our next cruise. We've been to Alaska and Hawaii and loved both trips. Where should we cruise next? It will be our 20th anniversary and I want to plan something big. Scandinavia? The Mediterranean? London - St Petersburg? Galapagos? Tahiti?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and stories.

Thanks!

If you love nature, definitely Galapagos. If you love culture, I'd do London-St Petersburg. Have you considered a world cruise, or a segment of one?

We really love nature, but we love culture too. Don't know that we can take all that time off work to do a world cruise, but that would be cool. Also, two weeks is just about the max time off. Galapagos sounds good. We loved snorkeling in Hawaii, so someplace with clear water but not over the top partying would be good.

Belize? Costa Rica? We've thought about a land adventure in the US Virgin Islands, but how gay friendly is that?

The US Virgin Islands are very gay friendly. Russia is not at all, they once "cleansed" a river after a boat cruising with gay guys had passed!!! They also recently arrested gays for staging a quiet demonstration.

For an anniversary I would choose Tahiti. It's so romantic, water sports are great, the sea is just beautiful, wonderful scenery on the islands & the locals are extremely friendly. We went there for our 30th, many moons ago. One of our very best cruises.

We went to Tahiti for our 10th anniversary although not on a cruise and we just loved every aspect of it. The water is absolutely spectacular with all the different shades of blue. Lots of places to see. Very friendly people there except most of the tourists are honeymooners and keep to themselves. Can't wait to go back for our 20th. :)

  • 3 months later...

We just booked Olivia's Western Carribbean trip on the ms Ryndam. My better half and I have always talked about going with Olivia and their 20th anniversary seems like a good reason to go. Plus, we've traveled to places across the US to see the Indigo Girls over the last 2 decades...why not go see them on a cruise. :)

We're still talking about Tahiti for our big 2-0 anniversary in a couple of years.

Ooooh, wish we could join you! The timing is bad for us, because I have school

I wish you could too! Agree -- The timing is bad for anyone on an academic calendar. Besides the Indigo Girls and the chance to go to Belize and Honduras with a boat full of gals, one other factor that sold us on this trip is that we got insanely low flights to Tampa from BWI -- $59 each way. Yeah, it's a trek from NoVA to B'More but who can resist a $59 airline ticket.

Patseacruiser --- we will definitely have to check that our about Tahiti. We're thinking about staying put if we go there rather than cruising.

WOW! That's an awesome price. I agree that getting from NoVA to BWI is a bit of a pain, but it's worth it for that price. We usually fly out of Dulles but I'm more than willing to go to BWI for a good price. Or from National if the timing is such that I need to leave straight from Gallaudet.

That itinerary on the Ryndam looks great.

Once you've had a great time on the Olivia trip, you might want to look for them doing Tahiti again.

Tahiti is the best, being there with Olivia is the icing on the cake...............

I like that idea too. Are you going to Greece and Turkey with Olivia? We seriously looked at that trip too.

Yes, all of our trips have been with Olivia since 2003. We enjoy them very much.

That sounds absolutely fabulous! Having been on two non-Olivia cruises, I've been driving my wife a bit crazy saying...I just can't get my head around that many women in one place. The Ledo deck...all women. The dining room...all women. The casino...all women. It's a great thought just a little hard to visualize after only seeing/meeting a handful of other lesbian couples on our other cruises. :)
