CTKath Posted May 6, 2004 #51 Share Posted May 6, 2004 The bread pudding on HAL in the afternoon, love the vanilla sauce with it. And their special muesli in the morning breakfast buffet. YUM! gemz Posted May 6, 2004 #53 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Yeah lol escargot are good! It's a treat since we don't eat it at home. Other than that I loved the Corn Flaked French Toast on Grand Princess. It was really good I also like soufleés. The food on RCCL is very good. As with anyplace you eat, there are things you should avoid; I hear Ranch Steak is one of them. I can't remember anything on our cruise that I didn't like. However, we are not champagne and caviar people. If you expect 5 star dining you're not going to get it. If you expect good food that you can eat and enjoy you will be fine. Have fun. Reading this topic I found alot of things I liked from Century cruise so I am happy!!! I like caviar, but eat it at home alot and much cheapper than Cruise line sells it! If somebody likes caviar (black or red) just check Russian foodstores in your city and they have much better prices. ------------------------------ Less than 2 weeks till my dream Med vacation! cruzinpsycharnp Posted May 6, 2004 #56 Share Posted May 6, 2004 gemz, that's a neat picture thing! I love escargot too. Haven't been on RCI yet. Chilled fruit soups sound gross. What makes them good? CAPinBoynton Posted May 6, 2004 #57 Share Posted May 6, 2004 All of the chilled soups are #1. Also, the vidalia onion tart appetizer and the shrimp cocktail, the rum raisin ice cream, and the veal chop at Chops. cbcloud Posted May 6, 2004 #58 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Another vote for the chilled fruit soups, and for the creme brulee. I always get two appetizers, the "fruit soup of the day," and something else. I had never tasted creme brulee before I started cruising, but it is WONDERFUL..! I have it every time it is on the menu. Adowning Posted May 7, 2004 #60 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Navigator March 2003...in the Promenade area the coffee/snack shop had these cool little sandwiches the first day..>I think I ate SIX as a snack of course. lol Then later we picked up some mini cream puffs that I am STILL dreaming about...outstanding! I have been on three RCCL cruises and there were a couple things I didn't LOVE but everything else was amazing! I can't imagine not liking all of that tasty beautiful food. And of course all of the chocolate delights in the Grand Buffet on the Enchantment...yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Okay RCCL just pair all this good food with some decent coffee and I would be 100% satisfied with the dining experience Aching to cruise again..... GeraldOfHouston Posted May 7, 2004 #62 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Last October on the Navigator, I ate every meal in the Windjammer, and had smoked salmon three times a day. Just love the stuff! flamingosun Posted May 8, 2004 #68 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Some of the cold soups are better than others... The Bananarama is really almost too sweet. And the apple is not my top choice, either. The watermelon gzespacho is utterly delightful, and the cucumber is to die for. The berry based (Strawberry Bisque, Red Berry) ones are great as well. The ONLY thing I have EVER requested two of on a cruise is the cucumber soup. One for appetizer, and another instead of the salad course.
