peas&carrots1 Posted May 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Has anyone been on the Imagination recently? We are scheduled 6/29 for Key West and Cozumel on a 4 day. We'd appreciate any updated info or travel tips. Thanks!
SpideyHulk24 Posted May 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2009 We were on her about 1 year ago and it was right after the rennovations. i will tell you, you should be in for a treat! It was wonderful. The public spaces, the additions, the food and the service were top notch! My only complaint is that it ended too soon! Have fun!

jaw5293 Posted May 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Just took the 4 day on May 4th. We were to go to Cozumel but was rerouted to Nassau due to the swine flu. Didn't stop us from having lots of fun and enjoying the cruise. No past guest party though they did have the captain's party. Only midnight buffet was the Mexican one on the sea day. Was on the ship when they had to stop and pick up some guys out of the water. Was interesting to watch the rescue and waiting on the Coast Guard. Glad to answer any questions you might have. Vidimom Posted May 26, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2009 We just got off the Imagination Friday and had a wonderful time! The crew was very friendly and the food was some of the best we have had on a Carnival Cruise. We booked last minute and got a great deal on an inside cabin so we can't give you any insight on other types of cabins. Ours was a double but they added a rollaway for our daughter and basically there was no room to walk around the bed. It really didn't matter. All we did was sleep there anyway. The ship is in wonderful shape. It's been updated and looks great! The waterworks area was really nice as was the adult deck also. The weather wasn't the greatest this trip but we had plenty going on inside to keep us busy. The casino was rather tight but we had fun anyway. I hope you are lucky enough to get Karl with a K as your cruise director. He told me he would be going to the Victory but I can't remember when. He as very funny and all over the ship. If you have any questions, I will try and answer them for you.
chachi Posted May 26, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I got off of Imagination last Monday. I had a wonderful time. The staff wa s extremely friendly, and the food was good. The ship was bright, but I liked it. It was easy to navigate. The lido deck was very loud, but if you climbed up another level, it was very relaxing. I had the whole deck to myself for a while. We had a room with port holes and 2 twin beds. There was plenty of room. The shower always had hot water. Loved it!
klrprincess Posted May 26, 2009 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I sailed on the Imagination over Thanksgiving of 2008 with nearly 60 family members and friends for my wedding. We did the four night cruise to Key West and Cozumel and had an amazing time! I'd love to answer any specific questions you had, but here are some things I'd like to note. Like a previous poster, we only had one midnight buffet; ours was on the same night we departed from Cozumel, and it was Mexican-themed. At Key West, we had our wedding, then people enjoyed walking around town. At Cozumel, our group did a variety of things, but I went with about 20 people to Chankkunab. It was a great place to spend the day for a low cost. The ship is typical Carnival, but it is updated and nice. The only complaint I had was that there was only one Captain's Reception. We had the early seating, and we could only make the last ten minutes of the Captain's Reception after our dinner.

Do you have the Carnival Capers? If so, have you posted them somewhere? We are trying to find out which nights are the formal nights so we can pack appropriately. Thanks. Julycruise09 Posted November 10, 2009 #16 Share Posted November 10, 2009 I was on the Imagination (my first cruise) in July 2009. What a wonderful experience. Formal night was the Tuesday. Food was awesome and the guests were great. There were a lot of kids as school was out but for the most part everything was fabulous. My only complaint was that there is only one pool. The adults only deck was quiet and we retreated there when the noise was too much. Never did explore much of the ship but what I saw was wonderful. FYI did an excursion in Cozumel called Nachi Cocom which was booked before leaving and if you want beach time this is amazing. 50$ gets you all you can eat and drink, private beach and pool. Our waiter was Manuela and he was incredible. If you have nothing planned check it out. Enjoy!! Carole
jamieacru Posted November 10, 2009 #17 Share Posted November 10, 2009 Thanks for all the info. Our family is doing this cruise on Dec 14th. We have 4 kids (girls 15, 9; boys 10, 13) and are hoping there is enough on the ship to keep them occupied.
