Recommended Posts

We are booking a PR inside room on the Navigator. We usually book outside rooms, so not sure what is best. Are the ajoining rooms noiser that not ajoining. We are going with friends, so we could have ajoining rooms I think. We are looking at 7583 and 7579 or 7605/7607., Please give advice!!!!!

In general, it always seems to be easier to hear your neighbors in adjoining cabins. As to the Promenade cabins, a view of people shopping does not quite measure up to a view of the ocean. The Promenade cabins are better than an inside cabin, but a view of the ocean would be preferable. I guess it really comes down to how much you are preapred to spend and how much time you will actually spend in your cabin.

PR rooms are good choices if you are ok with an inside, and want the bonus of real daylight in your room. Deck 6 rooms are visible from the promenade, but are only a flight down to the activity on deck 5, and most convenient to getting to the dining room. Deck 7 is not very visible from the promenade, but are visible from deck 6 and 8 rooms nearby. Deck 8 is not visible from much of any rooms, except those adjacent and across. These are at the 'ceiling" of the promendade. As for convenience, I think it best to get a room closer to the aft elevator, since that is where you will spend most of your elevator time. it is the elevator to the dining room, windjammer, pool, and the Viking Crown. the bow elevator is convenient for the gym, casino, and theater.

Deck seven is good. Cabins are above and below. This is what I would do. I would go with 7579/7583. These cabins are not adjoining. You will have alot of togetherness with friends on the cruise, so it might be nice to have some space for a little down time.

Thanks for the reply. We usually book oceanview room, but the group wanted to save money so we thought we would try the PR rooms for something different. Do you know if you can tell the difference between night and day from the natural light coming in or is it all electrical?

The Promenade is essentially totally enclosed and there is little natural light coming in. Assume that almost all light is electrical in nature.

Okay, maybe this is a silly question, but do the PR windows on deck 8 really lean out, or is that just an optical illusion I'm seeing in the photos?

The windows tilt out so you can look down on the Promanade deck especially during the parades. They do not open and are sound proof. (but people can see into those rooms so keep the curtains closed during those special times like getting changed etc.etc.

I like deck 7 middle- cabin # 7597-7595 right in the middle. You are sandwiched between two deck of cabins and not over any particular club or lounge. Being in the middle allows you to watch the parade where it breaks up towards the end.

Sometimes using this web site will show you the promanade during various hours of the day.

I seem to remember day light coming in from the two centrums on either side of the promenade. In any case, it was bright during the day, and darker at night.
