HONDURAS Rio Dulce & Quirigua Ruins Excursion

Has anyone done either of these?

The HAL site answers the basic questions, but does anyone have more details?

For example, the ship arrives at 7am and the Rio/Ruins excursion leaves at 7:30. The last time I booked an excursion that began this early, it ended up getting cancelled because the ship was late getting into port. Has this ever happened? How comfortable is the River Trip? How hot does it get on the trip (yes, I know it's a jungle out there)? How strenuous is it? (One of my companions has mild heart failure and shouldn't have TOO much heat or TOO much strain.) Is this 10 hour excursion worth it?
