Distance from Ft. Lauderdale Pier to Airport

Can anyone tell me how long it should take to get from the pier in Ft. Lauderdale to the Airport there? I'm making plane reservations and am concerned I may miss my flight since it's at 11:00am. Thanks!

Is is a Sunday flight and a domestic flight? Yes, you should make it. Less than 20 minutes and less than $10.00 by taxi to airport.

We were talked out of an 11:30 flight and were at the airport and through customs at 9:45.... Sat 3 hours for our 1:00 pm flight.

 

Unless a disaster it is so simple.....

I agree with Anthony, we have never missed a connection after 10AM!!!! You can get to FLL in a heartbeat! I wouldn't recommend a 10 AM flight though! Allow another 30 mins or so! LOL

After many cruises and flights, my concern anymore is not how long it takes to get to the airport after disembarkation. We always take a taxi from the pier to the airport because this has proven to be the fastest and most cost effective for the 2 of us. And allowing 20-30 minutes is more than adequate travel time from the piers.

 

Beware the disembarkation nightmares!!!! We have cruised Celebrity, Princess, Carnival & RCI and there are varying degrees of shall I say "get off the ship madness" on ALL of these lines.

 

Cross your fingers on those early flights.......it does get nerve racking.

Unfortunately, I guess, the flight is not on a weekend, but a weekday. Will that make much of a difference in Ft. Lauderdale?

Jersey Cruiser, Looks like we are neighbors only a few towns away from each other. We got off Century 2 weeks ago and had no trouble making an 11:30 flight. We booked a 2 pm. flight but were able to get on the earlier flight. Last year the airport security line took us 45 minites to go thru. This year we flew threw. You just never know. The airport is very close to the ship pier and takes only 10 to 15 mins to get to. pat

Even though it is only a short hop from the pier to the airport, if the ship is held up by customs all bets are off. On a recent occasion, our ship was held up for over an hour longer than usual at Port Everglades. We made a 11:30 flight with only a little time to spare by taking a taxi. Our friends who had Celebrity transfers missed the flight and did not get out of Ft Lauderdale until late that day. My suggestion is to forget Celebrity Transfers and get your own cab.
