How can we request for a table near the window. We are party of 10 doing southbound alaska in the month of July, will it be possible to request now? Does anyone has a layout?

Thanks!

Carnival doesn't take requests for table size or location before the cruise. If you are doing Traditional dining, you could go to the dining room as soon as you board to find your table. If it is not where you like, you can see the Maitre D' and ask if it is possible to move you near the window. He may or may not be able to do that.

The other option you have is to choose Anytime Dining, where you go to the dining room between 5:45 and 9:30 PM and ask to be seated. You can request a table for 10 near a window. You may have a considerably longer wait for such a specific request.

Oh, wait, I just realized...Anytime Dining is in the upper dining room. Not even sure if there are window tables up there.

Best of luck to you. :)

thank you. Do they assign the table before boarding...? so we have to try our luck?

Yes, it's assigned before boarding, but you won't know the assignment until you board. A table for 10 can only fit in certain places, and I believe they are round tables in the center. If memory serves me right, the window tables are long, rectangular tables that hold six or eight.

You might consider a request for two tables, one for six and one for four, but remember, it's only a request. It would be difficult for the Maitre'd to move such a large table without displacing other folks.

When you check in, your dining time and table number will be on your S&S card (for Traditional dining).

If you are going to do Traditional...there is an early (6 PM) and a late (8:15 PM) seating. You may request which one you want.

You should make sure that whoever you booked with has all 10 of your bookings linked for dining. That way, you will all be seated at the same table. Otherwise, even if you booked cabins beside each other, you may get seated at different tables all over the dining room.

If you choose Anytime Dining, then you can just show up at the dining room and ask for a table for 10. As I said, it might be a longer wait for a large table like that.

Have fun! :)
