shoreguy Posted December 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2004 Well it is after noon (11AM) local time and the Dawn is still at sea. Due in St. Thomas now. I wonder when or even where the Dawn will make it's first port. The clock on the webcam remains 2 hours ahead of EST - they moved it ahead instead of back at the end of EDT. Keep im mind many of the shops in St. Thomas close at 1 pm on Sunday :(

tigerlilycruiser12 Posted December 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2004 At least they got there even if a little late. I just read another thread about an earthquake around the area. I wonder if they were late due to the problems with the what ever it is that is wrong with the ship or something else. It looked as if they had pretty good weather going down. sclauss Posted December 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2004 We are in St. Thomas awaiting sail away at 8pm. Our clocks are advanced 1 hour and we were late getting in due to terrible seas on the way down. They are extending St. Thomas to 8pm departure since we got here late. Seas are moderate now. Hoping for smooth sailing on the way back. This ship, staff, food, cabin are amazing! I was here in May and am so happy to be back. Sharon
DavidNDC Posted December 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2004 Hey, ShoreGuy, thanks for that link to the Miami port! I think I was seeing the Spirit on there and it looks dramatic. I sent the link to my girlfriend -- we're on the Spirit Jan. 2 for a short 5-day and this will be her very first cruise.

Rare uneamie Posted December 13, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 13, 2004 Yes, Tigerlily they did have an earthquake yesterday on Sat. Dec11. It was a 5.2 and centered 25 miles NE of Charlotte Amalie, US Virgin Islands. These poor Caribbean people....does it ever end? The storms, hurricanes...you name it. I guess we fortunate cruisers will not know where we are going to port at this winter due to all these storms etc. Have to play it by ear I guess!
