Diving in Curacao w/Ocean Adventures

Hi--we'll be on a RCI cruise and want to go on a scuba diving trip once we are in Curacao because we've heard so many great things. We are NAUI certified but are pretty new divers (13 dives total) There's a scuba excursion for RCI which looks like it's with Ocean Adventures---a shore dive off of Kontiki Beach.

 

For anyone that's done a scuba diving excursion in Curacao, have you done this one? How is it? Should we shop around and look at other diving operators?

You could do that one through RCL, or do something on your own. We tend to do our own thing mainly due to cost, but also fewer people. A few years ago we hired a taxi and went to Porto Marie. You can Google it and find more info. They have a dive shop on site, so you just put on your gear, walk into the water and swim 80 yards or so to a beautiful reef. The beach there is also very nice. Gear plus taxi was very reasonable.

I asked the same question on a dive/snorkeling forum and received several recommendations for Cruise Bus.

 

The correspondence that I have with them makes me wish I was leaving tomorrow verus September.

As a follow up, we ended up cancelling the excursion with the cruise (through Ocean Adventures) and booked directly with the Dive Bus. They were fantastic and we ended up getting a personal guided dive and loved it. It was significantly cheaper than booking through the cruise and (I'm going to guess) a much more personal experience in the end.
