Is Jewellery cheaper in the Caribbean or the Far East?

Hi - when we got married over 40 years ago my DH promised me some Mikimoto pearls...am still waiting!!!:rolleyes: Kids, mortgages etc., etc., all got in the way. But now my patience is to be rewarded.;) I have chosen the style I want and am all set - but have a big question which I hope one of you experienced cruisers will be able to answer.

 

At Christmas we are doing a Caribbean cruise which will call into St. Thomas amongst other islands where I know jewellery is usually available at a good price. But next year we have just booked a Far East cruise - where we will be calling into Hong Kong, Singapore, and Nagasaki. Where will I get the best prices for my pearls? Don't want to buy in St. Thomas this year if I will find better prices next year in the Far East.:eek:

Hi you would probably do better in the far east. Also if you have enough time out there you can email me with what you have been offered and I will try to advise:)

I have always found better jewelry prices in Asia than anywhere in the Caribbean.
