Miracle departs at 8pm from Tampa?

I was under the impression that it was an isolated thing, but I guess not? That really blows! I was not happy to hear we would be leaving so late, but from what I understand, we can board around 1'ish... if that is the case, I'll be happy!

We're booked on the March 20th sailing of the Miracle, and we haven't heard anything about a change in departure time from Tampa. Carnival still lists 4:00 pm as the departure time on their website, as it also does for your cruise, GC. What's up????? Does anyone know the reasoning??????

I just checked the CCL site, it states 8pm.

If that is the case, won't that change the arrival time and departure time of all the other ports?

Possibly but not necessarily. Ships don't always run at full power between ports, so they can often make up for lost time.

I went to the Carnival site and signed in. Checked my cruise details for our cruise 03/06 and it still says 4pm. Hmmmm...strange!

This must be another CCL site, then.....but it shows 4:00 pm as the departure time. Sometimes I think you just love to disagree with me....

GoinCruisin,

Your cruise is the week following the Super Bowl, and I believe that the Miracle is being used in Jacksonville for an additional "hotel." Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the change in your departure time.

There are two listings on CCL for the Miracle, one shows 8 and one shows 4, since all the ones in Jan/Feb seem sold out, I cannot tell which is which.... all the open ones in March and after are showing 4, but ours is 8, and is stated as such in the catalog...

It may have something to do with the fact that the Miracle has been chartered by the city of Jacksonville for the upcoming Superbowl as a floating hotel. The Superbowl is the first Sunday(2/06) of Feb. It then is doing a three day cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on 2/09 and then back to Tampa. The ship is due to head back to Tampa on Saturday after the passengers debark in FLL.

.

Same site,I just got in differently. I do see your link reads 4pm.

I went to Carnival.com,funships,miracle,(scrolled down to W.Carib) and chose the first w.carib and it shows some sailings(not mine, only 1 in Jan.,2 in Feb.) for 4pm.

I went back and chose the second w.carib and it shows 8pm but no sailings.

I have been on a couple of cruises that had later departures. It is no big deal unless you are dying to get into the casino. In fact you can leave ship and return before sailing. Heck if you get bored you can take a visit to the aquaruim next door.

Steve: Check and see where the Miracle is gonna be the week before- If its still Tampa- it may be a glitch. But the Miracel on our cruise will leave later because of the Superbowl and the cruise following right after. THey have to drop the people back off at Jacksonville before it comes back to Tampa. Something I wish I would have known before I booked flights-- coz then I woulda went down the same day as the cruise had I known all that.
