rungod Posted June 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2009 I cannot really say anything bad about the ship or it's crew. It is a magnificent vessel, very well maintained for its age. The service of the crew is excellent. They are constantly asking your opinion as to how they are doing, they are prompt to your requests and everyone from the officers down to the guys painting the walls are friendly and say hello. My older son loved the kids programs and the pagers are great to notify you they want you. The shows were first class. The seas were the calmest I have ever experienced on a ship. Castaway Cay is a beautiful island with great services. The free soda saves you lots of money and is not that far from any cabin. The ship is easy to navigate around. We had beautiful weather, hot but we are from Texas so it was nothing new. Disney service from the time we got on the bus at the airport to the return was extraordinary. We saw the new movie UP! in 3D on board and it was great. I wish there was another port other than Nassau. The Atlantis resort was something everyone should see but it really displays the disparity between the poor, working class of the island and the very rich who play there. It's isolation by a toll bridge emphasizes that. I am happy to answer any questions people cruising in the future need to know about the ship, but it is one of the better cruise experiences I have ever had. Even the porter in the terminal got me right by the most lax custom agent in the world in about 3 seconds, which might be disheartening to some! rungod Posted June 18, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted June 18, 2009 We did get a ticket to go see the Aquarium. My wife's boss said it was worth seeing and I wanted something I could guarantee a young (5 year old) child would not have a meltdown on. They rush you through it but you do have the freedom to go back and take your time on it again. You get to walk through the casino and see the magnificient glass sculptures. They told us we could walk over to the dolphin pens but we never could find it. The place is huge. They are very proud of the Michael Jackson suite in the hotel and the fact that Anna Nicole Smith lived and died there (really, no kidding). It was worth seeing for the money spent on the place, but it really lets you feel bad about how poor the rest of the islands are.

ppiew Posted July 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2009 We were on the WONDER in April, and it was as you described and we loved it. I will say that to us, the negatives were the downgraded food on the menus, and the lack of professional entertainment ie. gone are the magician, comedian etc. We still loved it but were a bit disappointed in the obvious cost cutting efforts.
