Bethany Beach Posted June 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2009 I know by searching this forum that the time allowed on the ship seems to vary by port. I also know from personal experience on RCL that the time that is given in the boarding documents is later than the time you may actually board. Our departure time is 6 p.m. from Barcelona. Does anyone remember the earliest time he/she was allowed to board?
clivep Posted June 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2009 In the last couple of years we have been on RCI, Celebrity and Azamara cruises from Barcelona, Civitavecchia and Venice and turn up about 11.30. We have always been on the ship within about 15 minutes.:)

C & D 4ever Posted June 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2009 We were just on the May 23 to June 6 Barcelona to Copenhagen cruise and were able to board at 11:00am. They had a special desk to take your carry on bags so you could go into Barcelona. We had something to eat at the buffet and then took the bus to Las Ramblas. When we got back to the ship at 4:30 our carry on bags were in our cabin. Worked very well. :)
JohnDoe44 Posted June 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2009 We got on about 12:30 and were able to go straight to our rooms. The embarkation hall was basically empty so it took less than 10 min to handle the paperwork etc. Very smooth. We'd been killing a bit of time at our hotel at the WTC and ran into guests who'd just left the prior cruise who said the ship was already open and serving lunch. Our instructions had said 1 PM. The Journey was docked at the Adossat terminal with the big ships. While we were in BCN at the WTC, the docks there were all occupied by ferries that served Sardinia and other nearby islands.
