Journey location in St Petersburg

Some review mention that Journey, because of its relatively small size, is staying not at the cruise port on a far end of the city, but right in the center. We'll be there on July 4 to 6. Does anyone know where exactly the ship will be located? Or where this information can be found?

Call Azamara (or have your travel agent do so) and ask where the ship will dock. While nothing is 100% positive due to weather and other ship traffic up the Neva, if they say the English Embankment or English Quay, then (hurry) get your visa. There is no more perfect place to be in St. Petersburg. Everything is within walking distance and the freedom of getting on and off at leisure is something 95% of the passengers on your ship will never experience. While tours have their advantages, being on your own in St. Petersburg is a delight! Get a map and have fun!

The journey is scheduled to dock at the Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment. It is at the entrance of the city and about 1.5 miles away from the Hermitage. You can walk directly into the city if you have a visa.

If you have google earth try lat59.93 long30.27

We are taking the same cruise.

We sailed on this itinerary last July. We docked right downtown on the river. It was wonderful to be able to look out day or night and see the city from the deck of the ship. Be sure to watch for the endless parade of weddings at the courthouse just to the front starboard of the ship. Also, don't miss the departure ... the captain literally turned the ship around in the middle of the river. AMAZING!! Lastly, as you are gliding down the river out of town, be sure to look to the port side and see the endless parade of tour buses winding their way thru the ugly, industrial yards to the other mega-ships docked way outside of town.

Azamara is the best way to cruise to St. Petersburg.

Don't miss Peterhof!!! It's the best of all the tours.
