transportation to airport from cruise ship

I am taking the Azamara Quest "Best of Italy Cruise" June 28 - July 12. What is the best way to get back to the airport after the Cruise.? Has anyone used the "Airport Shuttle" company? The cruise line offers transportation back but it seems a little pricey. Anyone going on this cruise interested in sharing a ride back to save a few bucks? Any other ideas?

You can easily take the free port shuttle to the entrance and walk the 3 blocks to the train station. The cost to the airport is 6.5 euros and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, with a train change in San Trastevere. The train pulls directly in to the airport and signs are clearly marked. We beat the cruise passengers to the airport. You may not find this way convenient if you have a lot of luggage or if you have a very early flight. Fiumicino Airport is a circus. Good luck
