Chops or Portofino's????

Recommended Posts

I am assuming that the Navigator has Chops and Protofino's. Which is the better restaurant and is it really worth it? Also, in CocoCay is there a particular area that is great to be. I know when we went to Labadee we went to a particular area that was not quite as crowded. It might be that CocoCay is not as big as Labadee. Please let me know.

When you get off the tenders at CocoCay, most folks will follow the path to the left. That takes you to the snorkle beach and the masses of chairs, BBQ area, etc. If you want a quiet, relaxing area, take the path and go to the right. It's a little further but you'll find an area of beach that is not near as crowded. There are chairs and hammocks and a fraction of the people. It's not too far to walk back for lunch. There is also a nice area on the far side of the water park.

The Navigator does have both. If I could only go to one, it would be Chops. Not that Portofino's isn't good; but it is nice to have a change of pace from the normal dining room food, and to me, Chops does that better.

Would have to agree with the previous poster,Chops would be my choice too if I only could choose one.

Portofino's isn't really "great" italian food and it is a very s l o w dinner with alot of food.

Can never beat a great steak!

We were on the Navigator last month and went to both Chops and Portofinos. Enjoyed them both very much and felt the $25.00 charge was well worth it. It was a 2 hour dinner at both restaurants. Portofinos is not really as much of an Italian restaurant as the name suggests. Even though there is a pasta course, we had fresh fish for our entree which was delicious.
