hill6 Posted June 23, 2009 #101 Share Posted June 23, 2009 What beautiful pictures of Grand Turk. We have been there twice on the Crown Princess and we are returning there next year on the Miracle.
mom2girls Posted June 23, 2009 Author #102 Share Posted June 23, 2009 I ended up watching the sunset this night. I was a little bummed because I didn't know about the "secret" door to the front of the ship. It seemed there was no good place to view the sunset, but I did my best. Since I was at the front of the ship I decided to take pictures of some kiddie items I saw:
mom2girls Posted June 23, 2009 Author #103 Share Posted June 23, 2009 Ok, I guess I did get the appetizer menu. Now, I have to look for the main course menu. Because I thought I had that as well. SIZE] I don't remember what I did after dinner this night, but I'm thinking it was hanging out in the piano bar or playing in the casino. I did play one night on the slot machines. Of course, I lost. :(
mom2girls Posted June 23, 2009 Author #104 Share Posted June 23, 2009 Ok, I found the entree menu: This is the night I ordered the flat iron steak. It was pretty good, but I ordered it rare, and it came out medium.

hill6 Posted June 23, 2009 #107 Share Posted June 23, 2009 [After a while I decided that I wanted to check out the adult area. I figured since it was 5:00 it wouldn't be crowded because many people would be getting ready for elegant night. I was right. There were very few people by the adult pool and jacuzzi's. As I said earlier the pictures of the menus didn't turn out wonderful, but I'm posting them anyway. What pool is the adult pool? Is it the aft one on the Lido Deck? mom2girls Posted June 24, 2009 Author #110 Share Posted June 24, 2009 What pool is the adult pool? Is it the aft one on the Lido Deck? Yes, it is the pool that's in the aft part of the lido deck. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I took any pictures. :(
mom2girls Posted June 24, 2009 Author #111 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Nice review. Did you notice any vegetarian items on the menu? Two of the people at my table were vegetarians. Yes, there is a vegetarian entree every night, but if you ask the waiter the night before they can make you something special for the next night. The chef made some Indian specialties for the couple at my table. But, I'm sure he can pretty much make whatever you want as long as he knows in advance. NJCruiser23 Posted June 24, 2009 #113 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Mom2girls, I am enjoying your review very much. I am going on the same itinerary, but on the Miracle next year. I have a ? About how long did it take you to get back to the ship and eat lunch in Grand Turk? Was thinking about having lunch on the ship and then going back to island. I will have my kids with me and they may not want to leave the beach. But if we can eat and go back, they might consider it. Thanks and keep up the good work. Love the pictures!:)
afcj1 Posted June 24, 2009 #114 Share Posted June 24, 2009 It's funny that you mentioned the skirt steak, because when I saw the menu, nothing else appealed to me except for that:D I'll have to ask for it rare too and hope that they don't cook it too long. Also, I had no idea that the pool/beach area at Margaritaville was sooooo nice. That's a welcome surprise:) You're pictures are GREAT!

kerrytens Posted June 24, 2009 #117 Share Posted June 24, 2009 The view from the ship: Question for you - I see in the first 2 photos that it appears that a hotel beside the beach seems to be open now (seems to have red umbrellas set up on the beach just to the left of the cruise centre)?? Is that true? How wonderful, if that is the case!! I sure hope it is because they were busy working on it when we were there January. I'm pretty sure there were still tarps over the roofs there actually because of Ike. What a lovely island ... and what a lovely review too. Your photos are amazing. I really love the one of the Grand coming 'right' at you! :) I am so excited to step foot on the Destiny now!! Miriam
