beyoung Posted June 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2009 we will be in Corfu from 8-6 nice long day and thought instead of doing any kind of ruins we would go to a beach and visit the town after or before, any recommendations? Also where do we dock? Any idea on cab cost to beach etc? thanks
kings court Posted June 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Hi Beyoung Have recently returned from our cruise on OV2 - in the morning we walked into the town (took about 25 mins), went on the trolley train but felt it wasn't really worth it (went up one way and came back the same way) and met a couple who were staying in Dasia. Said there was quite a good beach there so we took a bus (only Euro 1.30 each way) to Dasia which took about half an hour. The bus station is just past Marks & Spencer(!) and I think it was a No 7 bus. Once at Dasia, we walked down the road and were surprised to find some lovely bars etc, toilets, showers, sun loungers and parsols which we did not have to pay for. The beach is quite shallow and stoney, you can almost dip your feet in the water whilst laying on the lounger, but it was lovely and we were pleased we had found it. Hope this helps. Bluesmama Posted June 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2009 we will be in Corfu from 8-6 nice long day and thought instead of doing any kind of ruins we would go to a beach and visit the town after or before, any recommendations? Also where do we dock? Any idea on cab cost to beach etc? thanks there are some other threads on this topic if you do a search on corfu and beach. Also several posts on taking the bus to beaches. I am trying to decide between three beaches all recommended to me on CC, will probably pick the closest as we will need to take a taxi there and bak from CorfuTown to help save some time
