  1. Hi, I see that plastic water bottles are now prohibited (it’s been awhile since I cruised on HAL and my first cruise post-COVID). I know they do allow you to bring in a certain amount of water in non plastic containers. question- can I bring in my own (non disposable, non-singe use water bottle) if it is plastic. I do have some that are metal but they are a bit more costly or “special” (souvenirs from other trips) than the plastic sports bottles and I’d rather not bring those with me in case I lose them somewhere. will they confiscate? My husband and I will be bringing in two. thanks margo
  2. Thanks - meant WWII - that was a typo! Thanks again
  3. How easy is it to get a Uber/Lyft pick up at the port? Or are there taxis waiting? How long a trip to the Garden District of the WW1 museum?
  4. Thanks so much - I had no idea so that’s helpful as I was planning around it!
  5. We are booked on POA the week before (May 25 sailing) and I had initially looked to see if we could time the cruise to be in Honolulu on Memorial Day but it doesn’t work out for us. I thought this special event - Floating Lantern Festival - would be fun to attend https://lanternfloatinghawaii.com thanks Caribbean Bound for the tip on where to watch fireworks. Do you know what time they usually start? I want to time our dinner earlier in the evening so we will have enough time to enjoy seeing them from the beach.
  6. Did you end up booking? My husband and I are on this cruise along with friends. We love cruising (a good value by the way) and we’ve been to New Orleans before and have seen maybe half of the bands on the cruise. So we are very excited! While we go to lots of blues music festivals (and I’ve been to New Orleans JazzFest three times), this is our first music cruise. This is our first cruise post COVID also we are very curious to see how it goes. We have been to all the ports. We have been on two theme cruises before and enjoyed them. Keep us posted if you do book! Margo
  7. Am very interested in that Crater Walk - but not sure if we’ll do the ship’s excursion or go on our own. I have read reviews that it’s considered “moderate” with some difficult areas. And was this the IKI trail that you were on? Could you give me an idea of the amount of time you were hiking here? we’ll be on the POA in late May. thanks for the review.
