On another thread, bbmdschmidt, posted that he/she had gotten a letter from Celebrity advising them not to report to the pier in Port Everglades until after 1:30 PM due to increased security & border rquirements. This letter came separately from the documents.

Has anyone else gotten such a letter?

I read your other posts.

I checked around on the other boards and no one else on other cruise lines (only Celebrity) has gotten such a letter or voice mail.

It sounds as though your ship is going to be docked in one of the freight areas - and there aren't any passenger waiting rooms there.

Sounds like there are going to be quite a few ships in Ft Lauderdale on the 26th.

Just heard from another cc'er who took a Celebrity cruise in 2003.

They used the freight docks in Ft Lauderdale on her sailing.

This happens about once or twice a year. Therefore passengers are contacted about not arriving at the pier until after 1:30.

Just learned that we will be at pier 18. Does anyone know if this is a freight dock?
