Can't wait for the review! Sailed the Destiny last Oct. and going again in August. Did you happen to go to the piano bar? Was he good? Looks like from other posts that the Destiny got new lounge chairs on the Lido deck...true?

Thanks!

I was on the Destiny in Feb. Brad was ok in the Piano Bar. Some people rave about him, I thought he had his moments. The after midnight show is hilarious. Offensive to some, but hilarious none the less. Their were new chairs on Lido and they were great. Much better than the old plastic straps chairs.

Brad in the Piano Bar was my one negitive. first off he started at 9.30(maybe not his fault)and we stayed there twice till 11.30 with people coming in but then walking out:eek: he never tried getting a sing along going... on victory a few years back the place cooking. loved it a lot.

myself and my wife latched on to the rock band that was playing on board. they were great. onyx?bar was out Fav. spot. french martinis were our drink of choice(at night). food was to die for.

There was a woman at the piano bar and she was very good. Really enjoyed the band in the Oynx Bar. They were extremely good and interacted with the crowd in a nice way. The chairs on Lido were great when you could find one! I was a little disappointed with this cruise compared to other CCL cruises. The service wasn't near as good. Had 8:15 dinner and didn't get main course until 9:45 the first night but it did get faster. Still had to ask more than once each night to get ice tea. Told steward we had late dinner but he turned down the room each night at 5:30--before we could shower and get ready. Bar service on Lido was bad--had to try to wave someone down every time. Only found 2-3 staff willing to talk. Most only said what was necessary and didn't smile much. The cruise director was nice. Her name is Stephanie and she is from VA. We did enjoy the cruise but like I said, it wasn't up to the standards we were used to at all.

what woman? Brad was doing the sing along.

I had great service on Lido and also great service at the 6:00 seating. after tipping my waiter and drink server the first night soda was coming non stop. wine and soda were on the table every night when we arrived.

Sorry to hear about the piano bar...DH and I went for the first time in october and "Martin" was great!! I will definitely try the Onyx Bar...thanks for the tip! Does the great rock band play in the Onyx bar? My son will love that but he's only 16 so he'll probably not be allowed in to listen if it's in a bar??

We loved our cruise on the Destiny. Embark and debark were super easy. Noonan was the cruise director when we were on her--he was great. We enjoyed the bands we heard and the solo artists also. Did not go to piano bar. The adults only pool, aft lido, was enforced, a first for us. The staff was great and the food was good. We really liked Grand Cayman--did snorkel and stingray tour w/ independent co. Loved climbing the falls in Ocho. Fun Days at sea were fun and relaxing.

Can't wait to read your review! Booked a B2B on the Destiny for next May. Looking forward to hearing all about the ship.

I know what you mean about the piano bar! We were on the Victory in 2000 and that was the place to be he was awesome and interacted with the crowd! Been on the Miracle twice and the first time was totally disappointing the guy was a jerk and this May there was a new guy he was better but couldn't be the guy on the Victory! I wonder whatever happened to him!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the same band will be onboard in May!

How was the adult pool area? Any music playing there or just what they pipe in?

Bad grammer ahead;)

Ok lets see... the cruse was great.

the ship was beautiful and clean. the pools were small but big enough for myself and wife;). i thought the service on lido was great. the food on the whole cruise was outstanding. were there cutbacks, yes! but everything that was put out from breakfast to diner to late night snacks were outstanding. above average. my server at my 6 pm seating was the best. the first night i tipped hime a 10 and my drink server a 10 and the wine and all the soda one could want was there when we arrived and never stopped coming. i had the flat iron staek(rare)and it was FAB. this cut of meat must be ordered rare or med rare or it will be tough. the lobster was great. ordered a few tails with no problem. chocolate melting pot cake was outstanding. i have nothing bad to say about any of the food.

some of the Bar servers seemed a bit cold but i could care less. i thought the Atrium was a tad small and pretty dead. same piano player every night. the cheers wine bar blew as well as did the sports bar(wasted space). the disco by the cheers wine bar was used for the teen club. at least till 11 or 12 when the disco started up. beautiful bar so thought that was silly. piano bar = waste(i was so looking forward to this)who's idea was it at carnival to start this show at 9:30. it never got going that i know off. stayed to 11:45 with zero sing alongs:( it became the running joke between my wife and I.. one night a was throwing dollor bills rolled up at him. hit him a few times in his shoulders. just a joke between the two of us. no harm done.

now the casino bar was happening depending on who was playing. the Oynx bar was dark and fun. Blood Power rocked. we were drinking french martinis and had a blast. all outside bars seemed ok. a few years back while on the Victory thay had a bar hopping one night, i guess they stopped doing that.

my advice is two find your spot if you like to party and go for it. we found the oynx bar and had a blast there.

my daughter and her friend(15-16)also had a blast. there were 900 kids under 21 on board. they made friends and we hardly saw them. my daughter is raised street smart and knows all about the dangers from alcohol and drugs. nothing is hidden from her and its talked about monthly. so we felt comfortable letting her go have fun. she did and everything was fine.

key west was ok and cozumel was great. paradise beach is highly recommended especially if you have kids.

it rained almost daily at one time or another. all through-out the cruise. no problem we still had a great time.

god my spelling sucks;(

anyhow-

ask away my fellow cruisers.;)
