Choice - Inside Grand Palace or Catherine's?

We only have time for one inside visit and are trying to decide between Grand Palace or Catherine's Palace with Amber Room?

 

Any other thoughts please let me know

Just back from a 3 day cruise stop at SPB, June 24-26. Personally recommend the inside visit to Catherine's Palace with the amber room with an outside visit to the Grand Palace Fountain Park. We also saw the Peterhof Grand Palace (inside visit) but was just more of the same by the 3rd day, with larger crowds. Have a great time.

Thank you for your response - am understanding that if you could only pick one for an interior visit - it would have been Catherines?

 

Did you use a private tour company? If so - which one??? Thoughts???

We visited Peterhof fountains and Catherines Palace. Heard that Peterhof palace was similar but more crowded.
