cruiserfan007 Posted July 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Not sure if I'm posting on the right board but how much is internet service on board? Will be on Voyager of the Seas Oct 11th Western Mediterranean. Thanks, Steve:)
Macman1257 Posted July 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2009 If you use the kiosk PCs, you swipe your card on the reader and they bill you $0.50 per minute. If you set up your User ID when you board at a kiosk PC and then connect using your own PC's wi-fi, it asks you what plan you want with cheaper rates the more pre-paid minutes you buy but even the lowest rate is $0.35 per minute. No bargains to be had at sea...
patseacruiser Posted July 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Not only are there no bargains - it's slower than you can even imagine.
pmshirl Posted July 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2009 The standard minute rate is now 55 cents. There are package deals for $50.00, not sure how many minutes you get for the cost! It is a cheaper minute rate when you purchase a package! The best time to go online is after midnite. It isn't as slowwwwwwwwww!

RandSluv2cruise Posted July 7, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2009 We found in our European ports, there were VERY affordable internet store fronts. I would be it's the same in the Carribean ports. You know, it's vacation time. I found not having a computer was an added bonus on our cruise.
Rare ggo85 Posted July 7, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2009 For those who have Blackberries or IPhones, that's also an option. It's free (in terms of the ship, of course -- you do have your service provider fees). And, I found that I had Blackberry access most of the time at sea (Italy/Croatia itinerary) as we weren't too far off the coast. I agree that the Internet was slow; it seemed to depend more on where we were than the number of users.
