The Med

Recommended Posts

Hi James,

I've recently done the Med cruise on the Gem having done the Baltics on the Jewel last year. Prior to that I was a regular on OV.

The demographics on both cruises were very different. The Baltics had more Brits, but overall the general age of cruisers was older. The Mediterranean had a more mixed crowd fall stop. Lots of different ages, lots of different nationalities. There were plenty of Brits if you wanted to meet others, equally lots of Spanish, Maltese (NCL offers cruises starting and ending there), a fair number of Germans, a smattering of French speakers and about 40-50% Americans. I really enjoyed it.
