Hotels in Vancouver with day rates

Our friends may want to hang out in hotel all day in Vancouver since flight not until 11pm and disembarkation at 9am Canada Place. Any recommendations for hotels with reasonable day rates?

This question has been asked before and I am not that there was ever an answer. However as tourism is down in Vancouver this year there may be just some day rooms available this year. I would try larger hotels like the two Fairmonts, the Pan Pacific, the Hyatt Regency and the two Marriotts.
