Porto Vecchia in Corsica -- advice?

Our Windstar ship is anchoring at Porto Vecchia, Corsica, and we're wondering if any of you have been there and have advice about whether we should take a ship's excursion or just explore on our own ... ??

We are two couples celebrating our 45th anniversary - we met on our honeymoon. Took a Windstar cruise from the Canary islands to Monte Carlo to celebrate our 25th anniversary. This is our 5th Windstar cruise line trip but our first time on the Windsurf.
