Why Denver TV?

Does anyone know why cruises (at least those from the east coast) show only Denver news? It would have been great to see what was going on and not see the clock on the news channel and have to add 2 hours.

It has to do with the Satellite provider. I believe Carnival uses DIRECTV. If you subscibe to DIRECTV on on land and don't get local channels, one can get the Denver (and I think NY) stations for ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox.
