Blessingking2000 Posted July 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2009 Please can someone answer this question? We are flying into heathrow airport in london a night before our cruise which will depart from southhampton by 4pm. Do we need transfers to the embarkation point in southhampton or do we take the london underground to southhampton? thanks in advance:confused:
johnql Posted July 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2009 You will need a transfer of some sort. The underground does not reach Southampton. You can look into NCL's transfers or try this link for independent bus/rail options: http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/southampton_london_transfers.htm Also, go to the Ports of Call forum for Britain for more info: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

RiverCityCruiser Posted July 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2009 We just got off the Jade day before yesterday. We took the National Express bus to and from the Heathrow central bus station (Terminal Two). The rate for 60 and over was 15.75 pounds (about $25.00) each way. They have frequent direct and non-stop service which take about 1:20 hours. You can and should make reservations. It is a 5 pound per car taxi ride to the ship from the bus station. The National express website was very helpful. The NCL bus was $80.00 each way. I don't believe the train is practical, because of transfers and would take longer.
