Help on bidding for a hotel in Whistler area

I would like to bid for 2 nights on Priceline for the second of week of August. I am looking for 2 rooms in a 4-star hotel. Can anyone please give me some suggestions and advice? What price range should I start from?

I've recently seen ads for Whistler hotels starting at $99 per night.

Most of the hotels etc at Whistler will be upscale as most of them are fairly new properties - here's a link to Whistler's web site - there are room specials from $99.00 a night - much of the accomodation there is more like suites or condos. Notice that the $99 is CDN and they are showing it as $87.00 for US - given that $300.00 is not uncommon for Whistler those rates are great - Tourism is down at Whistler so the hotel prices are the lowest I have seen in some time.
